I think it's that Trump only plays the cards he needs to, when he needs to. It means he could have played this card (and the many, many others) before now. But he didnt need to.
Even this, is convincing people he will play the card, so hopefully they will cave behind the scenes.
Most likely, there will be a deal made behind the scenes. Trump will remain president. Some public cover story will be presented and accepted by all the media, eg,, "contested election," which they would not allow unless a deal was already made. Then they can complain for the next 4 years about it. And yet, Trump will be president. Or some other covid story. Maybe COVID something. It's not healthy to have all this turn over at the white house during a covid outbreak, so we're leaving Trump in there. Something.
He's threatening to do it to discourage fuckery - basically saying "you really don't want to put me in a position where I've got nothing left to lose."
At the same time, firing all of those people now would be completely pointless unless he was planning on having a second term. He'd just be making it easier for Biden to appoint whomever he wants.
Well, that sounds bad. Not the actions, the idea that now is the time to do it, as if he is giving up.
Not that I think that is the case, but this does not seem like the right time for distractions from the election fraud and treason!
