I’m a microbiologist and I tested positive today. 14 days ago, our coworker tested positive so we self monitor and I tested negative.
A week later I felt body sore and tired but I have been overworked so much and I stripped my horse’s stall so I thought it was that. I did have a bit of sputum come up last week but I tested it and it was normal flora. I also felt feverish and agitated but I self monitored and my temp was normal. Did have a bit of anorexia but I still ate, just not as much and I was thirsty. I felt fine Monday.
Wednesday I lost my sense of smell. I didn’t notice it until Saturday. I can taste but no smell. I put a bottle of Wild Turkey 101 up to my nose and breathe deeply. Nothing. Even the fumes from the liquor were not there.
I can’t smell the air, my horse, coffee, alfalfa hay, my man, my cat, stinky laundry, detergent, soap. Nothing at all. It’s so weird.
I can taste but not garlic. That’s really weird. My coworker lost her smell/taste but she said that it will return.
Now I get 10 days off and I have PTO saved up so I’m going to post anything that turns up and to answer questions.
Update: I put Castro oil in my nose with a qtip and I can smell cloves!!! Idk of the oil is working or if my smell is just coming back. I’m taking the vitamins that was recommended too.
I’m a doctor- I take 10000 iu Vit d a couple times a week and a few thousand mg vit c. Quercetin and zinc 200mg. I practice at a busy urgent care. People are no sicker than any other year. This is a bullshit scam

Good, finally some accurate information.
I tested positive recently. Only reason I went was because I have zero smell/taste. I get tired easy from just minimal exertion. No cough, fever, anything. Just lethargic as hell and a complete absence of smell/taste.
I was tired all the time too. I thought it was due to the drop in temp here and evening shift. I get home and I would sleep throughout the night (I usually wake three times during the night). I do record my sleep on an app and I was recorded saying “I’m burning up” but my temp was normal. Chills then burning up.
Neither coffee or the Awake chocolate worked. No caffeine high. Today I had a cup and I was buzzing as normal.
I want to smell again. It’s kinda funny that I can’t smell farts or poop and that I can breathe in liquor but I miss the nice smells lol. When Im Outside I feel cold when I breathe in my nose.
My family is going through this. Im stuck in a hotel as I wasn't exposed due to being on a work trip when they got sick.
That sucks man, just be glad you didn't have an accute anaphylaxis attack, wake up sore and tired, then have your face distort like a super criminal who uses his brains to fight Batman.
You'll be tip top in a few days! I don't want to get it but if I did the anosmia would be a great way to lose a few pounds. Easy to eat healthier when you can't smell pr taste what it is.

By the way, I do have some microbio questions if you don't mind. I was thinking about the mRNA vaccine and wondering if it's possible for endogenous reverse transcriptase to incorporate the mRNA spike protein sequence into DNA in the nucleus. If so, will the spike proteins continue to be expressed in human cells indefinitely? And since the spike proteins bind to ACE receptors, won't angiotensin be affected, causing possible heart and blood pressure issues like an ACE inhibitor? Would this also cause birth defects like an ACE inhibitor?
I did the Aptima Panther PCR test. It requires a nasal or nasalphryengal swab. I tested myself. That swab sucks so bad.
It looks for the coronavirus proteins, three to be exact that is in Covid. I wanted the bio fire Filmarray respiratory panel and the BD Max test to see if they all tested positive. I also want to take the serology test to see if I spike in antibodies. I want to see my IgG and IgM profiles. I’ll ask for that after my isolation is over.
I wouldn’t take the vaccine ever. I sadly can’t answer the second questions because I’m not that Knowledgeable in vaccines. I can ask my dad who’s a pharmacist and knows a thing or two about vaccines.

My taste came back after about 4 days, smell is still weaker than normal but at least I can taste. Bonus is i can clean up after the dogs in the yard and walk around with a bag of dog doo and not a care in the world. Polished off some moonshine that we can barely tolerate when not sick as the lack of taste and smell made it quite enjoyable. Enjoy your time off and get a lot of sleep.
I can’t smell farts either or the poop at work ( C.Diff is a whole different level of stink) so I guess that’s a bonus. 🤣

That's apparently one advantage Ivermectin / Doxycycline / Zinc has over HCQ/AZT/Zinc: It's effectiveness from prophylactic (you won't even catch it in the first place if you're on it) to early stage quick recovery (within a day or 2 supposedly!) to even those with already advanced symptoms (but not so much - once the viral replication hits overdrive, your body just gets absolutely caned, from what I gather..)
Therefore, if ALL these chronically unwell people were aware of and had access to Ivermectin treatment before they even had any symptoms, NONE of them would likely have even needed to attend the hospital, let alone be intubated and really be in the shit.

I think waiting for a vaccine to save the day is a fool's errand. Only an opinion, but seeing as it apparently won't help those already infected (to the best of my knowledge, may be wrong here...) there surely has to be other ways to approach this ridiculous situation we're all in???
