Watched till the end. I really believed the cop doesn't want to put innocent people in jail... but damn, he seemed really pleased with how good he was at persuading people to confessions of various crimes. Like, when he said he could follow anyone home today and justifiably pull you over for breaking the law because everyone will do it at some point. He seemed to like that too much.

TL DR: The lawyer is right. The cop boasted. And in a court of your peers you are guilty until proven innocent.
