Just thinking aloud. GEOTUS controls the internet, or he doesn’t - anyway, the sheer number of y’all is going to dick the cell networks good and hard, even if they supplement the regular towers with spy towers.
Any (licensed) oldsters in the area who want to help but aren’t sure how? Anyone own a portable set they’re bringing? I’m willing to sit up listening on 20 30 or 40, and pass on what I hear.
My thoughts, too. What are the local DC repeater frequencies there?
Listen link (~30 sec delay right now):

The Central Maryland Repeater Group (CMRG) consists of 5 UHF repeaters linked together to provide coverage to a majority of the State of Maryland.
It also provides coverage to Washington, D.C., Northern Va. and South Central Pa.
The system has been used for ARES & RACES drills.
Amateur Repeaters in the system include:
444.7000+ Laurel, Md. CTCSS 167.9 hz
448.9250- Suitland, Md. CTCSS 167.9 hz
444.1000+ Frederick, Md. CTCSS 167.9 hz
449.6750- Baltimore, Md. CTCSS 167.9 hz
447.0750- Aquasco, Md. CTCSS 167.9 hz
I've heard QSOs on it but on 1/6 everyone should back off and reserve it for emergency traffic if cell service becomes unreliable. Use simplex in the crowd and see who answers:

Pedestrian portable Hf is tough but doable - I imagine it’d be horrid in a crowd, yeah. Was thinking more like, if you’ve got a mobile rig, park it on the top floor of the garage and use it in case something bad happens.
