I only point out the difference because suggesting that all a man needs to do to have women look at them like this is become more masculine is wrong and could lead someone astray. Some men, no matter how masculine they are, lack the attractiveness required. Keep in mind, Donald Trump is a very attractive man overall. In your specific case, the changes to your body and personality (confidence/energy) from working out may be the main factor, not anything to do with masculinity.
A great example would be the nice guy nerds growing up who see the success all the seemingly asshole guys have with women so the nerds start acting like assholes. They still don't find any success. Why? Because the actual causation of a man's success is his overall attractiveness and something like acting like an asshole may have actually been working against many men but their otherwise overall attractiveness in other areas more than made up for the deficiency in personality.
