For me it was a cold day, and I smashed the tip of my index finger by slamming it in a car door. This was in the 80s before power door locks. Mom had to walk to my side and use the key to unlock the door to get my finger out. The nail was just barely hanging on. The old hag of a nurse doing the x-rays rolled my finger around like she was like she way trying to make a snake out of clay. I could feel the bone shards grinding against each other inside. Not fun at all.
