This is really REALLY bad. The description is vague enough that they could round up any protestors now indefinitely as a "danger" of spreading the disease.

HELL this law would actually easily allow them to say that because Synagogues aren't close so could be superspreaders so they could round all the Jews up into camps.. for people's safety.

"protestors" ?

literally anyone.

Hell, Nazi Germany probably wishes it thought of a reason this broad when it needed to round up millions of jews.

They don't need to prove or show anyone anything. Just random bureaucrat types your name on a form and you get detained to a holding camp.

I was optimistic that the bill was actually taken out of context but then the full text of Section 3 says that "...SHALL BE DETAINED FOR SUCH PERIOD AND IN SUCH MANNER AS THE DEPARTMENT MAY DIRECT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS SECTION", with the rest of the bill saying that it's up to the "department" to make sure you aren't a danger to others' health. You can easily work around the confines of the bill to lock people up indefinitely. Scary stuff.

Hell, they can work WITHIN the confines:

  1. You had a close contact, we’re quarantining you for 2 weeks.
  2. Well, one of our detainees popped positive, so you have to stay another 2 weeks.
  3. New science shows that it could take up to a month to prove you’re not a carrier.
  4. Oh! New strain!
  5. Oh no! New virus!
  6. Oh you’re upset about this? That’s a mental illness, we have to keep you indefinitely.

Every time evil rises they go after the Jews. The devil just can’t help himself.
