It isn’t worth the trouble for employers to fire and then have to rehire and retrain new employees over this. Everyone knows it’s bullshit. Now, other people at my work are also not taking tests/refusing.

Depends. If they have the resources they might give you paid time off to get over the coof. Small businesses probably don't have that kind of money or employees. Plus, not every job can be worked from home.
And what about paralysis Infertility Loss of life? Damage to future generations through some side effect of genetic manipulation
