Pedes I have an issue. I booked a room close to the white house, but now all the roads are closed. I'm flying in and so have no way of idea how to get there. To make things worse, my aunt is meeting me there, but getting in before me. She is country come to town and not in the best health, so I'm not sure what to do.

You positive this is all occurring at the same time? Keep reading the roads aren't closed until the event
Yeah...I may have jumped the gun a bit. I just woke up and looked at the map and all of the roads showed closed. Guess it makes sense they wouldn't all be closed at once.
Glad to hear. Hope it works out.
Keep moving forward. Daylight. You will be okay.
Closures affect only the streets in the immediate vicinity of the WH and Mall.

Text your aunt what flight you're taking and tell her to wait for you at your gate.
I was able to ride the train from the airport to downtown DC when I went years ago

Are you new? Did you not know this would happen? Especially "close to the Whitehouse"? Were you not told? Did you not see people preparing for the worst, camping, staying in their cars? I don't mean to bust your balls, and I am glad you two are patrioting your asses in there, but I find it somewhat hilarious you showing up on the 5th shocked with this dilemma.
No one is born knowing how to do all this stuff.
If you grade every American Patriot on a bell curve, anyone who gets to DC at all is way over on the high end of performance.
And so are those at home fasting and praying.
