Somebody took what he said out of context he said that he would be in charge if Pence failed to show up and if Pence takes breaks or steps out Grassley said he has heard nothing about Pence not showing up tomorrow he was just explaining what his job would be if Pence wouldn't be there

Grassley's office clarifies that he was meaning to explain what would happen if Pence had to step away during Wednesday's proceedings to count Electoral College votes. "Every indication we have is that the vice president will be there," Grassley's office said.
