It’s because they bought the office. Both sides have been bidding for governor/Congress/Senate seats for the better part of a decade. That’s why Stacey Abrams nsisted she won. She paid for it, but the Republican probably paid more. Great grift if you can get it. Take money from both sides give the victory to the side to give you more, the loser has no one to complain too.
