what lines are you talking about? The Rule 9 is the 'escape hatch' if a candidate has to step down or is incapacitated late in the campaign - the GOP will instantly announce a replacement.

Plan B is never presented as an attempt on Trumps life.
No plan A was Plan B is pence sticking with Trump because he became viable. Maybe im reading too much into it.
