It's not just the amen and awomen thing that is offensive. It's angering and retarded, but what was even worse was what came right before.
"we ask in the name of the monotheistic god bhrama and god known by many different names by many different faiths"
Bhrama is the "creator god of Hinduism"
The Bible talks about how when people worship idols and other "gods" they're really worshipping demons.
So to boil down what he did, he quotes the Bible in the first part of his prayer, then ends it with essentially giving thanks to demons and crediting creation with demons and then ends by bowing down to the alter of progressiveness with the amen and awomen thing.
This is like when ancient Israel would allow some Cananitte "religious practices" into their culture. God took that very seriously. All sin is serious and I've got no room to be self righteous because I screw up often, I'm just saying that leading and teaching others to worship other gods like this is a really weighty thiing.
Do you wanna anger the Almighty God? ‘Cause this is how you anger the Almighty God.
Frankly, I'm surprised they didn't erect an Asherah pole behind him...
Good points !! Notice by stripping use of "Father" "Mother" etc one cannot even properly recite prayers .... Hmmmm....
The fact he called a hindu deity "monotheistic" is retarded.
Yeah, I thought that was bizarre as well.
My guess is that he didn't want to anger muslims.
It's a way to have his cake and eat it too. The most blasphemous thing to a muslim is to imply there's more than one God. They even think Christians are polytheistic because of the three personhood of God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), despite us being monotheistic.
He can use the name Brhama to please the spiritualists and eastern religious, while saying monotheistic so as to not anger muslims.
It's just diversity word salad to try and appeal to as many subhuman third worlders as possible. These "people" worship the demiurge.
Devil worship!
Sure, just like we are cautioned against “bad karma” If you’re not Hindu wgaf?
Because Hinduism isn't true, but Christianity is. The Christian God is the God of all people, whether they acknowledge Him as such or not. And He's a holy and just God who must punish evil. But He's also a gracious, loving and forgiving God who wants to forgive and have a relationship with all people, so He sent His only Son to be killed on our behalf and then raised Him from the dead so that all people who trust in Jesus could have Jesus' righteous imputed to us. We trade our evil for His righteousness. It's not a fair trade. It's a trade too good to be true, but His love is too good to be true....or rather it is too good and it is true.
As a non religious person, it also offends me. Imagine if someone in the leadership of saudi called prayer in the name of bantu god ng. They wouldn't make it out of that mess alive.
That's cool to hear that where even if you don't believe, you still see why it's an issue.
if stupidity offends you, youre gonna spend your whole fucking christian life offended!
I use offend and offensive the way it used to mean, not the way modern sjws use it.
I watch Family Guy. I think it's hilarious. Sometimes they mock Christianity. My response is to sigh and roll my eyes and then pay it no more thought.
I don't whine about it, I don't petition....if it ever got so bad, I'd simply stop watching it.
This, what I'm talking about above is much more serious than Family Guy and warrants a more serious approach. I'm offended, but I'm not gonna call for him to be cancelled on twitter. Venting about it to this forum and to my parents and prayer is what I'm doing, not cancelling him.
I can probably guess the episode you're referring to. Is it the one where Jesus comes and they're trying to "assist his dating life"? That whole episode is horrible.
And there's another "joke" where I don't know if it comes from that episode which was probably in the top 3 most blasphemous things I've ever witnessed. That would be the "joke" where "the Father changes the details of Jesus' death". That was horrible. I agree with you. And that whole era I stopped watching Family Guy. I'd say that was around 2010 ish. That was Family Guy at it's worst. It is much funnier nowadays and doesn't do anything nearly that horrible. Fortunately. For the past 4 or so seasons they've been mocking liberals more than anybody.
However this season and to a lesser degree some of last season, they've started to revert back to some of their sjw-ness and it's unfortunate.
