Please know that I regard the proper administration of our elections as a top priority for our nation. Public trust in the legitimacy of our government and core institutions rests on the strength and integrity of the democratic system, and we must make consistent efforts to keep our processes and traditions free, fair, and accountable.
My staff has worked both to monitor and, when appropriate, to assist in raising and ensuring a swift resolution regarding any and all credible allegations of voter impropriety or other challenges to election integrity. Formal complaints along these lines warrant a full, fair, and thorough investigation, and the American people deserve to know, with robust confidence, that our elections were conducted with all requisite protections and safeguards for integrity in place. Throughout the nation, we have numerous legal avenues available for aggrieved parties to investigate, audit, defend, or otherwise seek to resolve claims of illegal activity that risks compromising our elections. Many of these processes are currently underway across numerous states and municipalities, and I fully support the right of those who have chosen to leverage legal means to pursue resolution to do so, regardless of the outcome.
Please know that my colleagues and I will remain engaged as we, like you, follow the investigations and litigation that remain underway. The future of our country depends on the integrity of our elections and the confidence that people have in our democratic institutions.
