I worked on repairing and refinishing the woodwork on the front entrance and vestibule/lobby woodwork a couple years ago and everyone who works there from the execs to the receptionists, doormen, engineers, busboys, cooks etc are wonderful. On a 90° day with high humidity an exec in a tailored suit and silk tie tapped me on the shoulder and said “you look like you could use this” as he handed me a bottle of ice cold water. A few times plainclothes security came up to me, apologized for having to interrupt me and ask me to stop work while they escorted a VIP in or out of the hotel. When I commented to one of the higher ups that people were the most gracious, respectful and nice I’d ever worked around he said “that’s Donald Trump and that’s what he expects of us.” One last illustration. Walking past the restaurant at the back of the lobby one morning I looked at the maître de, rubbed my belly and said “smells good”. He stopped me and said come Ii and have breakfast. I said “I’m in stained jeans, a dirty t-shirt and covered in wood stain”. The reply “Mr. Trump doesn’t care about that, you’re working on the hotel you come in and eat any time.” Asked for the Bill and was told “on the house”. Everyone there no matter the race or nationality had nothing but praise for President Trump. Because he treated everyone with respect.
