If he comes through, he will have proven definitively that he is one of the good guys, should run in 2024 with someone like Don Jr. as VP, someone who is groomable to be president after Pence.

He is the vice president. Normal logic says, the only way he would betray Trump is if they promise to make him the president, which is not going to happen. So I think we can safely assume that the silver fox is not going to backstab the Don.
