Great job Pede! If you are in Rosslyn you are actually in a pretty good spot. If you do not mind a little walk, the stroll from Rosslyn to the Mall is quite lovely and you will pass by many places and names you will recognize! It will take you an hour and a half, but it is nice and safe. Rosslyn metro is also very near by and can take you wherever you need to go.
After tomorrow's festivities, you can head in the other direction to Clarendon where there are many good restaurants and fun places to spend an evening.
Well here is more -- not many pedes would be able to handle it, but if you dare, take the red line to the Wheaton station and prepare to behold the awe-inspiring might of the Longest Escalator in the Western Hemisphere. 230 feet of clanking American power. The only one longer is in Hong Kong. Looking down from the top will induce dizziness in the less sturdy among us.
Sigh... Wheaton back in the day. After your three-minute journey up from the stygian depths, you could emerge into the sun and within a ten-minute walk would be Vietnamese food! Indonesian food! Filipino food! IHOP! Shoneys! Used book store! Magic shop! Buy a guitar at Chuck Levins! Donuts! Kabobs!
These days, just get to the top, and then turn right around and go back down. Sad.

Can confirm, I've seen this beast of an escalator. But I avoid taking the Red Line as much as I can.
True story, I was on the Red Line an hour before the huge crash back in 2009
