Even early childhood castrates would have an advantage. I think historical reports from when it was common seemed to indicate that were taller and had larger lung capacity than uncut men, even though they had weaker muscles.

This is true. Swyer Syndrome is the closest you can get to a biological male being a woman, and even they have clear physical advantages over biological women.
