There have been many landlside victories by 15-20% margins in the last 100 years even. The last one occurred in 84. Reagan won by an 18% margin. permalink save report block reply ▲ 2 ▼ – kallebanen 2 points 99 days ago +4 / -2 Obviously I'm talking about on average, the parties don't always manage to get the correct candidates or policies they need to win the election. permalink parent save report block reply ▲ 7 ▼ – VoteCyborgTrump2040 7 points 99 days ago +8 / -1 But that's not the average. That's not even a large landslide in the last 100 years. Here's some more examples of even larger ones. 1920 - Harding won by 26% 1924 - Coolidge won by 25% 1936 - Roosevelt won by 24% There are a ton of huge landslide victories like this, and many more that are not 51% to 49%. What you said is just flat out wrong. permalink parent save report block reply ▲ 1 ▼ – deleted 1 point 99 days ago +1 / -0

But that's not the average. That's not even a large landslide in the last 100 years. Here's some more examples of even larger ones.
1920 - Harding won by 26%
1924 - Coolidge won by 25%
1936 - Roosevelt won by 24%
There are a ton of huge landslide victories like this, and many more that are not 51% to 49%. What you said is just flat out wrong.
