I was all set to go, asked my mom for the day off (I cook at her diner), my buddy was all set to go with me. Even had one more who was considering it. Yesterday my mother suffered a mini-stroke. Shes ok, but still in hospital getting tested. Instead of coming in to work at 9am, I now must go in at 5:30 to open and of course cannot miss work now. I dont want to sound like a horrible person, I love my mother to death and im more worried about her health, but iv been a rebel without a cause all my life, and I felt that this one was it. I have to leave this in the hands of you good patriots. Be carful, be safe and thank you for saving our Republic. God Bless you all.

Family first brother. I too am going through a family medical issue at the moment. We must persevere and try to remain strong. My prayers are with your mom and you as well.

atm I am unsure, I have only spoken to her twice on the phone since and they only allow one person there at a time, so her sister is staying by her side and updating us slowly, Thank you for the prayers, friend.
You are blessed that at least your mom can have a visitor. Where my brother is, they are not allowing any visitors. His long-term girlfriend is at the hospital with him, and getting periodic updates while in the waiting room.
Prayers and thoughts for your brother, what a terrible and scary situation it is for so many people right now in hospital or nursing homes.

I'm a new dad and as much as I would've liked to be there I just couldn't leave my wife and little one so you're not alone.
As cool as it would've been to be there life happens. We still get to experience history, just from farther away.
