This is how I felt listening to David Young swear in Nancy Pelosi as speaker of the house (if you can find the clip it's pretty interesting.) He reminds her that they've all worked together for a very long time and he asks her to remember that she is the Speaker of the House, not the Democratic party. He says some other stuff about if they disagree on something, they could try to resolve it instead of the intense politicization.
Sure it was a nice sentiment but I was just thinking, dude what are you smoking and where have you been?? They do not want to hold hands. They do not want to work with us. They hate us. They want to destroy us. It's just like your post. We play by the rules and listen, and they don't. When we have power we consider them. Then when they get power they want to hurt us. These are diametrically opposed ideas for how the country should work, not simple disagreements.
