The USD is failing because the feds printed 66% of all total USD currently in circulation in the past 10 months alone. That's insane. That's going to cause drastic hyperinflation to the point where the dollar is either going to be worth almost nothing, or it outright collapses.
Considering the direction the world seems to be heading in, I'm personally leaning more towards the collapse of the dollar and a new decentralized currency being implemented in the next year or two. Take this with a grain of salt, I've never studied this shit before and have no schooling in this field. Just using my own logic, which could very well be wrong.
my coinbase portfolio has almost tripled in value in the past month and a half alone. i only see it going up at this point.
Recommend looking into Stellar Lumens as an investment. The tech behind it is trying to be the currency that connects all the worlds currencies. Explanation:
Currently, if someone in, let's say, NY, wants to send money to someone in Italy, the only way to do it would be via money transfer/wire. That takes several days, and costs a decent amount of fees. The sender would have to go to his or her bank, fill out the appropriate forms, pay the fee. The bank would then have to send that to another bank, and possibly another bank before it finally reaches the recipient almost a week later.
In comes stellar with Lumens. They would have all the banks that want to partake be connected to their network, so if someone wants to transfer money from NY to Italy, The USD would get instantly converted to its appropriate amount of Lumens, and then the lumens would then instantly get converted to the appropriate amount of Euro. Without having to go through the whole banking process, without having to pay absurd fees.
I bought about 150 lumen coins when it was around .07 cents. Now they're up to around .30 cents per coin. Am I thinking I'm going to become a lumen millionaire? No. But in case this happens to blow up because a decentralized global currency gets implemented, hey, maybe ill make a bit of money off it. One can dream.
This is not financial advice. Take this info as you may.
