Tech tip: phone photos taken in "portrait" mode actually store the photo sideways (same as "landscape" mode), and just store a metadata "flag" that says the photo should be rotated 90 degrees. Most computer software and websites ignores that flag, so you need to manually rotate it - don't know how easy that is to do on a phone, but if you open it in GIMP on desktop it pops up and asks if you want to rotate it.
