Hold onto these truths: the elections are not real, the republican party is not really on your side. My sense about Trump is that he wanted to help but was simply ineffective. Probably not even his fault, there was probably no way he could have followed through on his promises, although TBH I am suspicious of his lack of action when it comes to purging the DOJ, FBI, etc.

In any event, most of the gains we have made with Trump in office are easily reversed with EO's. The one permanent gain was supposed to be the Supreme court but as we see now, that was illusory. Meanwhile Trump has been an incredibly useful tool to make left-leaners completely lose their fucking minds and cry out for tyranny.

But he has accomplished one very important thing: he has revealed to 97% of all conservatives in this country that our government is illegitimate. From now on, in the proper sense of the word, there are no "conservatives," neither side wants to conserve the system that's in place now.

The left was able to convince their side to commit to organized "resistance" because a lack of belief in the existing power structure of society is a fundamental element of the leftist mindset (keep in mind they see the Democrats as essentially liberators of the people, not as corrupt tyrants). Now the right sees things that way too.
