They wouldn’t be able to get it anywhere near the National Mall. Even if it was a civilian airline being hijacked, they’d get everyone’s attention REAL fast.
A plane deviating from its normal flight path then heading towards the WH would be intercepted by the airforce and forced to land long before they could even SEE their intended target.
Just ask any enthusiast pilot what happens when they’re flying in their little two-seaters and they accidentally stray into restricted airspace.
I'm not nearly as confident as a lot of people about DC's defense. My guess is that if they get it into DC's airspace, whatever they're aiming at is Toast.
