edit: I wasn't aware that Pence had to be impeached and can't be fired, and that a new VP would have to be affirmed by the Senate. However, could the insurrection act offer a shortcut to that process in extremis?

That's part of the reason I believe he meant it when he said he was fighting for us. Even now, they won't stop attacking him and trying to destroy him (AND US AND AMERICA AS WELL)

Yes, I had read that. I'm not a lawyer so I don't know how binding it actually is or if it was included in the final version of the bill. It probably was.
