edit: I wasn't aware that Pence had to be impeached and can't be fired, and that a new VP would have to be affirmed by the Senate. However, could the insurrection act offer a shortcut to that process in extremis?

If Trump declares Pence “in insurrection” under the 14th amendment then he becomes immediately ineligible to hold any appointed or elected position and is immediately removed from office as a result.
