Killing of Ceausescu and his wife was not a good thing.

When Romania was in soviet union under Ceausescu, he didn't allow russian troops to march trough Romania to invade Czechoslovakia, they had to go around

Romania had no border with the former Czechoslovakia. The Soviet Union did have a border with Czechoslovakia. (See the current Ukraine/Slovakia border.)

His refusal to go along with the 1968 invasion was a political move to consolidate power and keep his military leadership in line. He and his wife got off easy for what they did to their people.

Communist apologists have no place here.

He wanted to make Romania one of the Europe's main powers (at the expense of the people). He was cruel, but his wrong intentions were for Romania. Compare that with the next chiefs which only stole from the country.
