For the past 5-6 years, at least, I've thought that splitting the US in two is going to be the only path forward. When you have two groups of people who disagree over something as fundamental as whether or not it is okay to kill an unborn baby, you can't live under the same laws and same values. There is no "American culture", no "American value system." There are too many sub-cultures and value systems in America that just don't mix.

Initially, when Trump was elected and all the liberals threatened to move to Canada, I thought that would be the best way forward. Let liberals have Canada and conservatives can have America. Now, that dream is gone, and our only recourse is for Texas, Florida, and other conservative states to separate and form a new country based on conservative values. It will be tough, because we won't have the power of the entire USA, but ultimately it will be better, because we will at least be living in a monocultural country with people who share our values.
