There is a legend about King Robert, a national hero of Scotland. He had lost several battles and was at one point a fugitive in his own land, being hunted down by England. He had no allies and his family was imprisoned. Legend has it, he was reduced to hiding in a cave, his only companion a spider. He was despondent, but watched the spider try to cling to the damp cave walls and weave a web, but it failed over and over. But on the seventh time, the spider succeeded.
