The cops are just the strong arm for whatever local government hires them. DC police are swamp.

The monopolization of force by the government will always result in this.

I know for certain the founders ABSOLUTELY intended not only for citizens to have weapons for there to be active militia groups throughout the states that could contest the government within a short notice.
