Such ahistorical defeatism. Quite often the side with less money is the fiercer fighting force. When you’re lean and hungry you are meaner, sharper. Overfed soldiers used to air conditioned tents aren’t particularly tough.

Look at the fear you saw today among the spoiled cops in DC. Most likely that fear led to poor trigger discipline and a negligent discharge. Or he was panicked and shot our brave unarmed Ashli.

Historically, many nations grew decadent and then fell to technologically and financially poorer foes, from the Romans to the Byzantines. In the 20th century the Brits quit plenty of colonies, the US was fought to a stalemate in Korea, quit Vietnam, is still in a ridiculous engagement in Afghanistan.

Sure, money is a big part of getting weapons and such, but most mercenaries won’t die for a check. And once you’re willing to kill and die you can quickly acquire resources.

I know this past 24 hours has been a shock to some. I get the natural dejection. I draw inspiration from how many of us did make the journey. And I saw how weak these corrupt people are when confronted with righteous anger.

It’s going to get way tougher. But we will prevail IF we prefer freedom to false promises of comfort.
