The night of the 5th was fucking Erie for DC. Stores were all closed and there was no one out at all. Never seen it like that (I haven’t been to DC many times in my life)

Extra speakers/sound system for president trumps speech were turned off: we could hear all speakers and music beforehand from blocks away. When trump started his speech, barely anything unless you were in the front of the stage. Even the secondary speaker system close to the Washington monument seemed to not be functioning. Many people started leaving halfway through because they were freezing cold and couldn’t hear the president. The only way many of us could hear the speech was to tune into local CSPAN radio and project with a megaphone. People were starting to go to the Capitol building at this time because they needed to warm up.

No cell signal: most of the entire day, no cell signal at all. It was horrible. Couldn’t even text half the time without it failing to deliver.

Very little security at the Capitol building. Was there with a buddy with a background in homeland security and he commented on how easy it was for everyone to “breach”. They surrendered very quickly for a supposedly violent group. Important part - they put porta potties right next to the stairs of the Capitol building. By the time we got there on the lawn, you couldn’t even see that we shouldn’t have been on the lawn there and multiple people were tear gassed waiting in line for the porta potties.

The whole crowd was insanely peaceful the entire time and it was wild to see the whole thing play out.

I have video from a lot of it and will be going over it to see if I can see some of those initial people who stormed the building so easily that look a lot like antifa in trump gear. I’m sure I am missing stuff but this is what stood out to me.

This is normal in big crowds. Even in a medium size crowd of 5k or 10k cell service can go bad. Ive been to music festivals where this happened.

I was there too...ditto I kept saying over and over again how peaceful everything was...I just dont believe what happened at the end. Looks like Capitol Police let them walk through from video footage I saw. RIP to the woman that lost her life for our country. So sad

Yeah it wasn’t right at all. Very peaceful and everyone was in a good mood. No antifa anywhere.

I haven’t seen any good estimates on numbers, but when the Capitol was first stormed, there had to have been around 1m there going back up PA ave

Exactly my thought. You would think we burned DC to the ground with how they are spinning this. It was all light hearted and fun. Even saw a couple with a few month old baby. No violence at all
