If he honestly didn’t believe it would have been successful, perhaps he was hoping to maintain a place in congress. Ironically, seems all but assured he won’t now.

No media personality can commit to supporting what occured, even if they truly feel pedes didn't go far enough, partly due to the future not being secure and they will be attacked for inciting violence which is a legit crime.
