The Bible wants you to never lose hope btw. No matter how hopeless things seem to still never lose it

Yep, also, this is how soldiers in a war must react or the war will be lost. Cling to any sliver of hope, and stop worrying about being foolish. When you start being a “realist” in surreal circumstances you lose all shreds of faith and hope. You then will be consumed by your negativity and will eventually convince yourself to surrender. This is why dooming is for fags.

Clinging to slivers of hope that fighting won't happen or that it'll be easy and you can go home soon is why the soldiers at the end of Vietnam had zero discipline or morale and started chucking frag grenades at their commanding officers.

Soldiers that win wars cling to duty and don't waste their time thinking about whether the prospects are good or bad.

Vietnam was a fucked up test run of many different sour war games and new weapons. Agent Orange still affects the kids of veterans to this day (not spitballing, I know some myself). Americans bought and gave troops guns that were known to be faulty. Lots of fucked up shit.
