Some people need that level of distraction. Memes are one of the few ways you'll get people with increasingly short attentions spans to notice your argument. I'm not saying it's super effective, I don't know that. I don't think it hurts. I don't make memes, no talent for it, but I do see some upside. I'm not invested in it enough to fight over it, but those 65 million people aren't going to suddenly start reading books and blogs again ... they're lazered in on tictoc videos and memes. That's our society now.
