I figured Ted would not be so stupid as to listen to McConnell's "advisors". That's undoubtedly where a statement like this comes from. All he had to do was remain silent and it would have been fine. He could have just talked about unity, or even just make a statement NOT using the word terrorist. But we'll remember this now. There's no going back from it.
