...because this is what happens when you invite an uncontrollably large crowd, with varying levels of training, and give them only vague instructions.

He must have known, so I'm pretty sure he got exactly what he wanted. Now, why? What is the strategy behind assembling a crowd of a few million and letting things take their course?

I'm confident that President Trump has a plan; he straight up wrote The Art of War Volume 2. We would be wise to try and understand that plan.

It's been rather counterproductive in hindsight.

Which had no meaning anyway except to buy a few more hours.

Does it even matter? We didn't have a majority anyway. I was hopeful they would be pressured, but nope.

People would have came either way. This was the third DC event.

Yes, but the level of anger would have been less. There was a GIANT wink-wink in calling everyone to come. Almost all thought there was "a plan". There wasn't. There wasn't. I am 100% sure Pence told Trump ahead of time what he will do.

He has had crowds like this for years. Before this one, can’t remember if it was November or December he had a huge turnout. There was literal zero acts of violence. Nobody was harmed besides Antifa once again showing up and assaulting people. From kids, women to older people.

He never told anybody to charge the capitol. He said march outside and protest. March down the streets. That was his words.

People here keep saying, “it’s not ANTIFA!” It was definitely ANTIFA that escalated and got people following in.

Because of it a life was loss. Trump has never had a turnout go sour. So today must’ve been a big shock to him.

I honestly don't think it matters whether we got people into the Capitol or Antifa did. The larger a crowd is, the harder it is to keep in line, so someone acting up was inevitable. I'd argue that this isn't even a bad thing, when we have a leader who says "look how angry the people are. Now you can either listen to me, or you can listen to them, and they're not really in a talking mood."

Yes but never has his rallies despite 4 years ended up like this did. It has been peaceful every single time despite hundreds of thousands of people turning out.

He knows a lot that we don’t. Though I wouldn’t be surprised—given how he left DC and how he told us to go home—if DC is going to have some tough times ahead.
