It seems that Trump has accepted that, although he was cheated, he will leave office peacefully on January 20. My question is: What do we do next? The states, courts, and congress has validated the wild inconsistencies in the voting totals so no one can bring a claim in the future. Manchin is the only person standing in the way of eliminating the filibuster and packing the courts (he will fold eventually). Republican governors and lawmakers are too weak to clean up their states.

Is this going to swing back to sanity? Even when Obama was elected, I knew that we would get another chance to turn things around. Not as optimistic this time. If that makes me a Doomer, so be it. I am hearing and reading a number of people that feel the same way and don't have the answers.

Take some deep breaths. Yes we’re fucked, but apparently we always have been, and this last 4 years was the anomaly. The next 4 years of the national stage is going to be a shit show.

Enjoy the left’s surprise when their taxes go up (shocked picachu face). Enjoy watching the dems ignore BLM and Antifa now that they don’t need them.

Be grateful for Trump’s perseverance over the last 4 years. Watch for him to be a thorn in their side as time goes forward.

Focus on local politics. Get to know your county commissioners. Attend meetings even if it’s just via zoom. Be a positive human presence in your community, even if it’s just your neighborhood block.

Learn to speak Chinese. Might come in handy. /s

The establishment is going to have one goal above all the next 4 years: Ensure that nobody like Trump can ever win again. The DNC is pretty good at robbing people like bernie, tusli and yang of a fair chance but Trump managed to wipe the floor with the Republican Party.

The events of yesterday were overblown on purpouse. They will use the media headlines of dangerous terrorists and extremists to justify new laws and/or rules that ensures no other "dangerous president" can ever be elected again. The rights of the American people were eroded after 9/11 with the threat of terrorism. This will be similar, it's a true and tested method.

Trump should have made election reform his number 1 priority when he won in 2016. He didn't and now the establishment has struck back and unlike Trump, they will make sure they won't lose again. Doesn't mean they'll succeed but they'll try do their best.

He made one big mistake: He thought the vote total he would get would be insurmountable by cheating. He was wrong on that. Everyone turned their backs on him and sanctioned the wrongdoing and this is precedent now. Too bad.

there's nothing. just try to live within the confines of this society and accept reality that we are powerless to save this country.

That seems really bleak, but true. We had a great 4 year run!
