It seems that Trump has accepted that, although he was cheated, he will leave office peacefully on January 20. My question is: What do we do next? The states, courts, and congress has validated the wild inconsistencies in the voting totals so no one can bring a claim in the future. Manchin is the only person standing in the way of eliminating the filibuster and packing the courts (he will fold eventually). Republican governors and lawmakers are too weak to clean up their states.

Is this going to swing back to sanity? Even when Obama was elected, I knew that we would get another chance to turn things around. Not as optimistic this time. If that makes me a Doomer, so be it. I am hearing and reading a number of people that feel the same way and don't have the answers.

Take some deep breaths. Yes we’re fucked, but apparently we always have been, and this last 4 years was the anomaly. The next 4 years of the national stage is going to be a shit show.

Enjoy the left’s surprise when their taxes go up (shocked picachu face). Enjoy watching the dems ignore BLM and Antifa now that they don’t need them.

Be grateful for Trump’s perseverance over the last 4 years. Watch for him to be a thorn in their side as time goes forward.

Focus on local politics. Get to know your county commissioners. Attend meetings even if it’s just via zoom. Be a positive human presence in your community, even if it’s just your neighborhood block.

Learn to speak Chinese. Might come in handy. /s
