Depends on the part of the economic, cultural, political, etc. cycle you're in at the time. On top, ignorance truly is bliss. At the bottom, the ignorant are the ones who truly get "sucker punched". Anyone paying attention is not shocked by any of this. Congress has done nothing to benefit the American people in a long time (we're talking decades). Government is great and is required for the smooth operation of the nation. But government has been recursive and self-serving for a very long time. No 19 year old American drafted into the Marines received net gains from fighting in Vietnam. And the American people sure as shit didn't gain anything from invading Iraq with no gameplan. There are some younger Congress members who see this. Tulsi talks about how it really is in Congress on the JRE podcast here.
You don't have to agree with everything she stands for, but I do believe that she genuinely believes what she does is for the best. And we need more honest Congressional members like that.
My life until around 2002 when I got red pilled and became politically aware and full on conservative — I remember those low info days as being very carefree and not having this huge weight on my mind all the time.
So I sometimes feel longing and wistful for those days of the old me.
I looked at the world SOOOO differently I think today me couldn’t even be friends with the me back then. I’d slap him silly.
So yeah, they have it better, the way my well-fed and spoiled dog does who just eats, sleeps, shits, and plays in the yard! Jealous of him too sometimes!!
Seems that way in Canada. Millions of low information voters. I heard too often... "Well, he legalized pot". Being a low information voter just makes you an ignorant fuck
