This is in line with a post I made yesterday after chaos erupted, as the night was fading.
What has happened in the last 24 hours is difficult to process. From the initial counting, to the Capitol, to the aftermath. Given all of this, I still stand by every single thing I said before, during, and after.
Men only have so many options in this life. We, as men, live according to rules that govern, by mutual consent, our time on this planet. When these rules are transgressed, or at the very least, appear to be transgressed, we have the right and duty to voice our concerns to officials. These officials act as the arbiters of justice, the enforcers of said rules that we have all agreed to adhere to.
While it may be unpopular to say, and you're free to disagree, last night was the result of heightened tensions and pressures caused by a system that, beyond a reasonable doubt, seemed to just ignore these stated rules. Will you blame man for doing what could be considered quite reasonable under said circumstances along with said pressures?
My answer is a quick no. What happened was man fighting back in what seems to be the most logical fashion possible. If you'd like to be politicians and worry about the first move, the second move etc, so be it. Calculate all you want but at some point, action must be taken. From this moment, there is no going back, nor any room for apology.
While you may feel that it was a mistake, I won't apologize for supporting the highest Good, for believing in this place, and for encouraging others to stand for it as well. I won't apologize for supporting the notion that every single person in the USA, and by proxy North America, and thus Earth, deserves freedom, justice, transparency, as well as the ability to seek the best version of their own lives.
As a Canadian, my interests are fully aligned with what happens in America, not even in the slightest bit separate. Your freedom is my freedom, vice versa, forever. In fact, as a citizen of the planet, your interests were never separate from ours, because this has always affected us all.
I will still be standing by for what is Good, even if all hope is lost, even if it proves to be a fruitless quest. So whatever choice you make, or however you define what happened moving forward, is up to you.
