If I was a member of the house I would have gone out and met the crowd in the hallway to ask them to stop or to hear their grievance. The GOP members in there fear the mob because they know the mob was coming for them just as much as the Communists. Everyone knows a real MAGA person like Rand Paul or Matt Gaetz wouldn't have been touched by that crowd.
These people aren't cowards. They have a very real reason to fear a MAGA mob... because deep down they know they are traitors(if not legally then certainly in spirit). Its called contentiousness of guilt. Innocent men don't hide from the mob.
