when you get this far out it becomes an existential argument - there is no where to go - yes the constitutions says this - but when all the procedural remedies have been exhausted and there is no prescribed authority to appeal to - there is no place to go. The founders made it clear that when that happens, well, then what we saw yesterday happens. The conundrum then becomes "who is a patriot and who is a traitor" - and the answer to that is, whomever is left to write the history books.

The capitol police, congress, and the media, think that they represent the interest of America. they are literally protecting the seat of the american government, what is more american than that? And the protesters are convinced that all procedural paths have been exhausted and that process was not taken seriously but was just brushed off, swept up in agenda driven momentum, the only mechanism left was one prescribed by our founders, what is more american than that?
