Go to church, get land, get out of debt, get skills (building, gardening, animal care, cooking, medical/herbs, etc), stop being a consumer, start making and producing, research, and read.

Wendell Berry is an amazing farmer/philosopher who has written a lot about how the fall of America is tied to everyone leaving farms and gutting rural communities. "Unsettling of America" is a great one for starting.

Joel Salatin's website for Polyface Farms has a 'library/reading list' that is excellent.

Out of debt is the one thing I disagree with. I've transitioned from paying off debt ASAP to making bare minimum payments since at this point I have zero faith in the currency, runaway inflation is likely to reduce my debt in the long term, and frankly hard resources are more valuable than money going forward.

well I am currently not making any student loan payments because I know I won't get my money back if biden passes relief for it.

In a hyper inflation scenario, all banks will re index loans to inflation retroactively, as shown in Israel, Argentina, Guatemala, Germany...

Would not be surprised to see that here as well. If there's one thing you can trust about banks, it's that they'll get their (your) money, always.

shit, is that true? Can you provide a link to read up on it?

REMEMBER- Argentina raided their citizens' private retirement funds to pay government overspending. The banks rolled over because their heads were safe.

My wife and me have been talking about homesteading. Seems like the time to get started. Hopefully my 48yo boomer body can handle it!

So as a homesteader with a broken body myself, I have found help who is willing to trade for room and board who can do the heavy lifting. Don't let excuses hold you back. Though life is becoming more difficult everyday as a result of socialist decay, you're life can become richer instead as you nurture the plants, animals and relationships you become responsible for on a homestead. It's like heaven on earth. So it still sucks but just not so much. :) Good luck and may God bless you!

Wendelly Berry! Yes! Unsettling of America is fantastic but...unsettling

I'll check out Joel Salatin's site. Thank you.

Thoughts on the best place to look for affordable land? I have the skills I just need the property.

There are farm real estate brokers, but so much can be done on just a couple or few acres. There are lots of books about how to live on a few acres.

This is what people aren't realizing.

There isn't going to be "your land" to homestead on!

That's what this is all about.

They want all of us gone off this amazing land so they can have it.

Learn chinese is the best thing to do now.
