Twice in his speech yesterday, Trump said "It takes more courage for Mike to do nothing." At the time, I thought he was misspeaking, but he said it twice. I think he warned Pence of the coming actions, and Pence chose to side with the traitors. We'll see in the coming days if I'm wrong.

Trump isn't dumb, he had a feeling Pence would be a coward not do the right thing.
Remember Trump has plenty of experience at the top of the business world to read people like this very well.
I watched Robert Barnes' livestream with Viva Frei yesterday and he said that he's known for a while that Pence didn't have Trump's back, that Pence was the one who went to Ecuador to get Assange's arrest arranged, and that he's tried a few times behind the scenes to get Trump out in the past.
He also said that he heard in his meetings yesterday that the Pentagon was not going to send the national guard in to secure that capital building, but it was TRUMP who ordered the national guard to come in, not Pence.
This never made sense as an official narrative. The Vice President has very little power other than breaking Senate ties and certifying electors. Pence has no power to call in the National Guard. The order has to come from either DefSec or Trump.
