I served in the Marines from 2006-2011 deployed to Iraq in 2008 and deployed to various southeast Asian countries in the time I served. I'm sure many others feel the way I do, but when I got in it was less the touchy feely Corps, but by the time I got out it was heading deeply to becoming the feelings Corps. Our military doesn't care about winning, our military cares about left wing P.C. bullshit. They hire officers using affirmative action which means if your kids are enlisted they may not be fighting under the best officer they could be. If we go to war with China your kids will be fighting against their best officers, China will be fighting against our diversity quota officers. Don't let your most precious gifts from God join the military. Our government doesn't deserve your kids and our military doesn't take war seriously enough that you should trust them. They care more about getting the transgendered first female spec ops officer than they care about winning operations. When winning is survival it should be the only thing that matters in war. Remember the U.S. government doesn't represent your liberty anymore so why represent them overseas. It's time red blooded true Americans stop dying so Washington elites can pad their pocket books.

Army infantry vet here. I agree. We need to rip every traitor politician out of power and elect true patriots. Remove the directives that call for this bullshit that has weakened our military. Once that is complete we remove all military leaders that are weak or traitors themselves. At that point we should be enlisting educated men and women and they should be trained by the best combat veterans this country has to offer

Been preaching it all morning--parents do not let your sons or daughters enlist to be cannon fodder for the Liz Cheney's of the world.

They will attack Syria again and possibly Iran. All for the benefit of Israel and the military industrial complex. Millions more innocent civilians will die or be displaced and flood into Europe.

I'm expecting a new ISIS to pop up in the ME.

Heard this long ago from my double amputee family member who is a veteran. Quote "these politicians are not worth this" as they showed me their severed limbs.

The men and women who enlist are the same patriots the media and establishment deeply despise. Their fake military support is transparent; they don't give a damn about anyone in the military except to further their own causes. The people who would fight and die for our country pose the biggest threat to the traitors.

From an active duty service member (never claimed this on this account before, fuck it):

You don't need a veteran to tell you not to join the military. Ask an active duty member.

The only thing that they can dangle in front of 18-20 year olds (most likely hire) to support administrative and combat arms jobs is free college. Free 2 year/4 year college is coming and that takes away any real 'incentive' (if college degrees can be called that) that would counteract the risk of maiming.

Support ops (think anything that isn't combat arms) are overwhelmingly anti-Trump.

I have no idea why people still think we are the military of WW2 or 2001 that was combat arms focused and primarily driven by patriotism. It's a federal jobs program for most people right now.

Thanks for serving and making it out with most of yourselves intact, vets.

USAF Vet checking in. Politicians hate you, they want you, your children, and grandkids to die in forever foreign wars but pay you no respect. I wish I knew this before I joined but we warn those of you now.

Why join the military just to be sent to die in a godforsaken country to line special interests pockets?

Even the SEAL program which used to be 100% performance merit based is now compromised with forced diversity quotas too.

We have been taken over by corporations and their pc bullshit. Same shit in corporate America.

Our family has had soldiers in every conflict since the Revolution. The last vet has discouraged all the kids from joining, especially the daughters. That person was sad and disgusted at what the Army has become, and the disconnect between civilians and military families. Restart the draft and see how that fucking goes. Make them own their wars.

I think most of the people I served with are the hardcore Americans I love. Unfortunately they aren't the ones running the institution, the swamp rats in Washington are.

If the next couple weeks don’t go well, the US military will have become a Chinese gun-for-hire. Who knows, Iran and other enemy creeps have their hands up Xiden’s ass too.

Your kids will be following a tranny to do China’s bidding.

Yeah, no.

why would I serve a country that is a satellite nation to the CCP?

the touchy feely stuff is on purpose, as it serves the overall degeneracy and decline of our nation. It is weakness.

It's branch dependent...I'm not going to lie being a Marine has been a great thing on my resume, the post 9/11 GI bill helped me tremendously also to get certification in my field...if you join realizing you aren't fighting for freedom but really acting as a mercenary then you have the correct mindset. The biggest con is the gamble of being sent to war by people you CAN'T TRUST AT ALL. Also you may be sent to kill people you have no quarrel with. Also realize most of the U.S. interventionist policies are what created the people who want to kill people in the west.

What about commissioning into the army? Your thoughts?

2
sgtjermin [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

If you are commissioned you are commissioned for life and they can recall you at any moment. Also if the person is the wrong color and gender they are likely to miss some promotion opportunities based on those factors. I wasn't an officer so I cant say how the behind the scenes works completely, but my time sitting on radio watch I saw if you're an officer you have to do a lot of ass kissing if you're getting promoted.
