Then the sarge opened it up and told them to come out. He explained, certain people are genetically disposed not to be affected by tear gas. That doesn't mean you don't put on the gear when ordered, though, because there is stuff out there that WILL affect you, and it's not tear gas.

I take that back, I think i have. I was a missionary in a foreign country, and we were downwind from a protest, and the people I was with were all bothered by it. I could smell something but it didn't seem to affect me.
It felt like getting lit on fire when they launched the final assault. Pretty sure they fired about 6 canisters in that last volley.
I’ve been maced many times (in jail for fighting) and this was worse.
