encryption is encryption - can be used by both left and right
its open source - ANYONE can check their source code
there were errors in their code - it was found and corrected
Sort of. It works in general, but almost all phones can be remotely hacked by the government. What this means is that your signal text messages will be encrypted end-to-end, where they can't sweep up your discussions en masse and search through it later.
But, if you were a person of interest, they can definitely target you and pull your phone actions before it was encrypted for transfer.
If you were really paranoid, there are open source phones that you can get where everything is open source except for a few drivers (for bt, wifi), and they tend to have physical switches to those components to cut power.
From u/stalwart: “ Protonmail was used by Edward Snowden when leaking info about the US government and not only could the NSA not hack into it, but the company didn't turn over any information to the feds because they set-up their site to not capture any user data. That's about as solid a record as you could have.
All emails are encrypted (on your side at least, unless you're emailing someone else on protonmail) with a key that is larger in size than the data it is encrypting. This makes it mathematically impossible to separate the encrypted data from the key that's encrypting it. Just remember to use good OPSEC and don't make it easy to find your login credentials!”
Snowden recommend it. Problem is the NSA can tap into your phone and just monitor key strokes, but AFAIK that’s only for people of interest... but we’re all talking on this website so, yea.
Not sure how much I trust an app that has a giant endorsement by Jack Dorsey on its home page...
He endorses it because it's the primary tool of Antifa for comms

Expensive as fuck, sadly. I guess you could think of it in part as a donation to the cause, but I’m not savvy enough to properly utilize it.
If your friend on the other end can see the encrypted message, so can the nsa.
i guess we're just down to handwritten notes, typewriters and steganography/security-by-obscurity then........
what do you recommend?
One-time pads are unbreakable but there's no messaging app based on that technology. Use Signal and it will likely make mass surveillance difficult.
And Moxie marlinspike, Co-founder/ceo is NOT based.
well in this case i would say it does not / cannot (?) leak into their product, and they cannot ban anyone based on identity.
I guess my issue is, I am not as technically savvy as others. So this app is saying it's encrypted, but is it truly?? And how would we know?
I am just not so quick to trust. Wish I had more knowledge about this stuff.

O hai thar millipedes, why not use this app in particular to "organise a revolution" and its endorsed by tech giants.
Why are you on a computer? Apple, microsoft, and google are all cucked. Oh, and so is the LINUX kernel community. What OS you using?
Fisher Price bespoke.
kek
Love that shit.
The only right answer is TempleOS
maybe Jack Dorsey is the way that he is because of censorship
