To all the pedes that are saying they want to vote in the primaries:
Quit the GOP publicly and vocally TODAY
When the time arises to vote against republican candidates in the primary, there will be plenty of opportunity to register as a republican again later to do that. They will always take republican registration.
Check with your state, some are different, bit you have plenty of time to join again later.
Good for you! I just finished changing mine in Florida (just got home from DC) to No Party Affiliation. Feelsgoodman.
I am 56 and I have been a registered Republican my entire life. My mother pushed me in a stroller with a Barry Goldwater for President sign on it.
I am done with them.
I will follow through on my promise to vote against my three incumbent Republican reps in the primary, so I will need to register to do that (closed primaries in Florida), then I will switch right back to NFA as soon as possible.
Feels awesome! Much the same story here... I'm about a decade younger. My mother led me by the hand into the voting booth to push the button for Ronald Reagan and let me feed the ballot into the tabulator.
Here's a Goldwater quote to mark the occasion, "Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice. And moderation in the defense of justice is no virtue."
To all the pedes that are saying they want to vote in the primaries:
They need to feel heat NOW!
In NC unaffiliated voters can still vote in the Dead Elephant primaries... changed my affiliation online today.
